European Islam – Tradition, Cultural Diversity and Contemporary Challenges :) which will be held in Pristina, Kosovo, for a period of six working days (22/10/2012-29/10/2012).
In total will be 27 participants (18-29) from 9 countries(Kosovo, Estonia, Macedonia, Albania, Italy, Germany, Turkey, Bosnia and Herzegovina, United Kingdom).
The training course addresses the place and role of Islam in contemporary Europe with particular reference to Islamic cultural heritage in Europe and its contemporary relevance. Through a programme based on non-formal education methods, the TC will explore the place of religion, culture and identity in today’s Europe, foster reflection on the factors that influence the portrayal of Islam in European societies and its place in public debate. The TC’s main objective is to equip participants – youth workers, volunteers and peer leaders – with tools and methods to address religious diversity issues in youth work.
