About Project:
Walking the path of reconciliation- empowering communities for a peaceful society (Walk On) is a capacity building project financed by European Union under the Erasmus plus Program. The lead organization is Beyond Barriers Albania in cooperation with five other partners from: Kosovo-Lens, North Macedonia-YCC, Serbia-EKC, Croatia- LDA Sisak and Bosnia & Herzegovina-Mladi Volonteri.
This project aims to build the competences of youth workers, teachers, young people and community youth leaders in the Western Balkans, to address and work with reconciliation, countering hate speech and promoting peacebuilding. Peacebuilding cannot be reached if we don’t all work together, therefore this project proposes a thorough approach in involving different stakeholders of the community and equipping them with skills and expertise how to fight these negative phenomena in their environment.
On Seminar:
Youth workers will gather to concretely explore the challenges and work on mitigation ways, interventions and future steps on reconciliation and peace building. Policy Brief will be introduced and 2 workshops will be used to consult and enrich the recommendations.
Outcome: 1. During the seminar participants will produce a “Training Toolkit for teachers and youth workers- How to be resilient to reconciliation, no hate speech and promote peacebuilding;
2. Recommendations for the policy brief will be collected
CRITERIA: – Only participants over 18, no upper age limit -Youth workers, volunteers, activists – Basic knowledge of English – Motivation to disseminate project results – Gender balance
Accomodation:
The mobiity activity of the project will be held at HOTEL HORIZONT, Durres Albania. The Hotel is situated 22.5 Km from Tirana International Airport (It will take 30 minutes by car to get to Rinas Mother Teresa airport) in the coast of the Adriatic Sea. The venue is set within 3 km from Durres city center. Guests can make use of laundry; room service and ironing service on site. A gym and a fitness center are among the on-site facilities.
ALL MEALS will be served at the Restaurant of the Hotel on the 1st floor, where a large buffet for your choice is offered for all tastes and dietary needs.
